How Much Are You Making Online?

In December of 2008, I began writing online, mostly for eHow in the beginning. I had no real expectations to make very much money, but I was sure hoping for some kind of windfall passive income. Initially, I only make a couple of bucks from my articles written in December, but since then, I have made a couple hundred dollars from those first few articles. Ehow has even deleted some, but I am still making money.

Fast forward to September of 2010 and I am now making a steady $1,300 to $1,600 per month from eHow, Bukisa, Associated Content, Oainternet, Clickbank and Commission Junction. Google adsense through blogger and hubpages are just trickling in. The majority of my money is made from eHow and Clickbank right now. I can no longer write for eHow because I do not want to sell my articles to Demand Studios, so I am now writing on Hubpages or my own blogs.

Although I am happy with the passive income that I am making right now, I am also surprise to hear that Pat Flynn from Smartpassiveincome.com is making between $7,000 and $20,000 per month. I don't know exactly when he started, but Pat started posting his monthly income statements in October 2008, just a couple months before I began writing online. I do believe that Pat had begun some of his online money making attempts way before October 2008. However, I cannot help but compare myself to Pat in some ways just because we were both trying to make passive income at the same time.

Another huge difference between Pat and myself, besides our income, is that Pat has dabbled in many different internet money making adventures such as educational test study kits, cell phone apps, ebooks and his own websites. I have not tried any of these pursuits because they seem way over my head.

I have also noticed that Pat does not even really try to make money from Google Adsense.

These differences make me wonder what I should do differently today? Although, I know that I am not going to go down the road of making cell phone apps or sell test kits, I still have a lot to learn from Pat Flynn.

Pat has been an inspiration to us all because he has shown us that it can be done. If you put in the time now, you can benefit in the future. Now I just need to figure out what it is I need to do to grow my future passive income, you are welcome to follow me along the way.

eHow November Earnings and Deleted Article Report

This was a very exciting month. My eHow earnings were $617. I love eHow. Although others have said that there are writing sites that pay similar or more than eHow, I have not found one.

I think eHow pays better than anyone else.

Also this month I had some deleted articles restored. I sure hope it is permanent. That is very exciting because some of my articles that had been deleted were very high earners.

Thanks eHow!

eHow.com October Earnings Report

I made $609 this month! Woo Hoo!

I made a total of $1735 from all of my online writing and affiliates.

This month I tried to clean up some of my eHow articles by making corrections and moving none earning articles (that have not earned in more than 6 months). I moved the articles to Associated Content if they would give me a fair price and if not, I moved them to Bukisa.

Mystery $75 eHow Bonus

If you have been keeping up with my blog then you know that I received mystery $75.00 from eHow with my June earnings. Initially I thought that this bonus was something to do with the $25.00 bonus for writing 5 articles on three specific days in May. I had written 21 articles on those days, not even knowing about the contest.

Then I thought that the bonus was because I wrote more than 100 articles in the month. I had myself convinced that it was because I had written so many articles but because I never received an email from eHow, I really had no idea why I had received the bonus.

Writing online is just getting better every day. Yesterday I received an email from eHow about having one of my summer home and garden articles posted on the homepage. Wow, what an honor to have my article featured on the homepage. I am now wondering if the $75.00 bonus was for the homepage contest. I remember Rich mentioning something about a $75-$100 bonus if your article is picked to be on the homepage.

I still do not know for sure, but one thing that is for sure, eHow is definitely a viable way to make money online and it is a very simple way to create a passive income for yourself. What could be easier. I have tried selling stocks and forex and although I really enjoy doing it, it is very difficult and stressful to trade stocks or currency and you never know what will happen.

Pumping out a few articles per day or even per week seems to be a much better way to make money.

Months ago I really wondered if the people bragging about their $500 plus earnings per month on eHow were telling the truth. Now I believe that some of them were telling the truth.

Good luck to you all!

$8.30 per 1,000 Page Views on Ehow.com

I have over 134,000 views on my 543 eHow.com articles. That calculates out to $8.30 per 1,000 page views. I don't know about you, but that sounds much better than sites such as Today.com that pays only $2 per 1,000 page views or other sites that pay anywhere from $1.50 to $3.42 per 1,000 page views.

EHow.com pays a lot more than other writing websites in my opinion. It does take some time to get started and you will not be paid up front, but if you are looking for passive income writing online, eHow seems to be your best bet.

It takes very little time to write a few articles per day or per week and it eventually does pay off. Invest in yourself today by writing some articles for eHow.com, the best passive income from writing online.

Passive Income Writing Online

Do you want to make passive income writing online? So did I and I have been writing online since December 2008. This blog has chronicled my ups and downs of writing online. I still don't know everything and I am sure that it could be done better, but the one thing that I have learned is that it can be done.

Even though my passive income is not massive (yet!), I have been making an income and it is very exciting. There is so much more for me to learn about blogging, keywords, etc. I just wanted to update everyone on how much income I have made to date. It does not really feel like passive income yet because I work hard for every penny right now, how every I do see now how it can become passive income over time.

Passive Income Writing Online

Totals to date:

Mturk $1,666.04
eHow $1,098.90 543 articles
AC $ 90.87 58 articles
Bukisa $ 21.86 111 articles

Google adsense has not paid me anything yet because I have not met the minimum amounts. My account is currently at $10.89.

Mturk earnings were not all writing jobs. Some of the earnings were simple data entry tasks. Most of the $1,600 was made in the first two months, I have since given up with them. The work is too grueling and does not pay enough. If you are desperate it is a good alternative. I would rather make money that keeps paying me.

eHow seems to be the best so far. Here is a breakdown of my ehow earnings, which have now become true passive income:

December $ 1.79
January $ 21.00
February $ 27.27
March $ 39.43
April $ 158.96
May $ 255.18
June $ 443.70
July $ 151.57(through the 10th)

As you can see it has been increasing. I am now making more than $15.00 per day and I have drastically cut down on the number of articles I write although I do intend to pick up again.
I am not sure which site will pay more over the long run and I am not doing an accurate comparison. It may seem like eHow is the clear winner, however it is nice to receive money upfront from other sites such as Associated Content. I have many articles on eHow that have not made any money ( a total of 81 the are completely non earners) and I also have many that have not made a dollar yet.

If I compare that with my AC articles, most of the ones that I requested an upfront payment for, were paid at least $1.00 and they do keep earning. Although it may seem like they do not pay as much, on the other hand, eHow does not pay up front payments at all. In my opinion, it is best to put article on AC if they offer a high upfront payment and/or they are a highly viewed topic, since they pay by page views.

Bukisa is another website that pays by page views and therefore it is only profitable if the articles placed there are highly viewed articles.

On eHow it does not matter how many views an article receives because the earnings are based on a secret algorithim (seems like clicks - never commit click fraud). I have some eHow articles with very few views that have earned a lot of money.

All in all this year has been very fun so far and I believe that even if I stopped writing for eHow today, I would continue to earn money for years to come. Passive income writing online is possible, yeah!

Ehow Earnings half way through June

Technically tomorrow will have the official update of my ehow earnings for half way through the month of June. Right now I am at $136.80 and I am very happy about that. My earnings are fluctuating every day but mostly increasing. I am expecting $9-$13 in tomorrows update. Ehow has been so wonderful at updating our earnings lately. It is so nice to depend on it every day.

My views have increased slightly also. I did have a few days when the views were crazy high but it may be possible that they were just making up for missed days. I normally received 700-1,000 views per day, but now it is 1,000 or more per day.

Hopefully my earnings and views will go hand and hand on the way up.

May Ehow Earnings Report

My fifth month on ehow was completed at the end of May. My earnings were $255.18. Short of my goal but definitely not something to complain about. May be I set my goal too high. I have heard from others that it was a slow month. I was doing great until around the 22nd of the month when earnings started dropping. I thought it was strange because I was writing a lot of articles. I have a total of 463 articles at the moment. Other ehow members claim they were making a lot more money by their fifth month with less articles. I hope there is not something I am doing wrong.

I wrote a total of 105 articles in May. Not too shabby. I thought that since some of my earlier articles have seasoned a little that it would start to pick up. I guess it takes longer than I thought. Either way, ehow seems to be an excellent way to make some extra money. It is not something you can depend on because you never know how things will go, but it is nice extra income.

I have re-adjusted my goal to $500.00 for June. I like to aim big.

Making Money Writing About The Things I Love

I am making money writing about the things I love. Awhile back I thought that I should stop writing about diet and weight loss because I did not think that they were that great for earnings, but as it turns out, they are just fine earners. I guess they just needed to season a bit.

I have reached my goal of writing 360 articles, I will now write only 3 articles per day on average. I think it is a much more achievable goal. I still believe that you need to write on a variety of subjects to find out which ones are the highest earners. Also, sometimes you have have the subject right but the content is not. I have several articles on one subject and one will make money while the other two do not.

Ehow has been very glitchy lately and making me very nervous. One of my friends had an article that is two years old added to his list of articles. He is working with the staff to have it removed. Strange days at ehow.

I Now Have a Passive Income Of $300 per Month From Ehow

Even if I stop right now and do not write any more articles, I now have a passive income of $300 per month from ehow.com. Today was a $12.82 earnings day. I think that is pretty good. I am finishing up my fourth month on ehow.com and I don't know if it could be done any faster. May be if someone new before they started what the keyword niches were and only wrote articles based on those niches they may have better success. I have seen people that are fairly new on ehow with relatively few articles who claim they are already making more than $10.00 per day, but we will never know. I did not believe it at first and if I had not put so much effort into creating this passive income, I still would not believe it.

If I now have a passive income of $300 per month from ehow.com then may be it is also possible for some people to be making $1,000 - $3,000 per month. I have always thought it was not true, but I guess I was wrong.

I still have a lot of articles that have not made any money, I am trying to tweak them to see if I can squeeze any money out of them but so far nothing has worked. I have a couple of $0 earners that are at least 3 months old. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it.

$150.00 April Goal for Ehow

My current goal for my ehow.com account is $150.00 for the month of April. I currently have 288 articles on ehow. My original goal was to make $500.00 per month by May. I still think that is possible. My articles have needed a little time to season, but now that they have my earnings have really started to pick up. I will keep you posted.

I am still dumbfounded by the people that claim they make about $4-5 dollars per article per month. That would be awesome if it were true. That would mean that I would make about $1,400.00 per month just on the articles that I have. I don't know if that is possible but we shall see. I will be happy with $500.00 per month on ehow.

I have been shocked to see some of my newer articles start to surpass the earnings of my top earners. I have been changing my featured articles to reflect my top earning articles, so if you are ever curious, those are my top five earning articles for the month.

I still continue to write about things that I know, although I have tried to focus on keywords and keyword phrases. I am also trying to properly place the keywords in the articles. There are some days that I think I have maxed out the things that I know about, but then I get another idea. Thank you for following my ehow experiment.

High Search Engine Ranking Options for Beginners

High Search Engine Ranking Options for Beginners

If you are like me, you spend plenty of time researching google, their ranking system and website optimization. This is a constant learning opportunity. Google is always fine tuning their system and therefore as bloggers and webmasters we need to constantly ebb and flow with our sites to keep up with the changes. Google search engine ranking is not a mystery, but because it is constantly changing it is difficult to keep up with.

The high search engine ranking does not come overnight, but it can happen faster than you expect if you use proper website optimization. If we go back to the beginning, you will remember it all starts with your website title, you want to make your target your title to your audience. Next title all of your pages towards your audience as well.

When google crawls your site they will see your keywords and keyword phrases. If you have enough content on your blog, they will see a consistent message. Google likes to see this consistency on one topic so that they can target ads to fit your audience.

We all know that google advertising is what it is all about right? Google wants to put the highest paying ads on your site so that they can make the most money and share it with you. You need to do your part by letting them know that you have the content they want. This is one of the key steps in obtaining a high search engine ranking.

How To Find the Highest Paying Google Adsense Keywords

How To Find the Highest Paying Google Adsense Keywords

Finding high paying keywords for your blog or website is very easy. The first thing that you need to do is go to goodkeywords.com and down load their free software for keyword searches, this software can be used for researching your keywords for your website or blog. You can also go directly to https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal.

There is an option to put in your website address. It then analyzes your website and gives you suggestions for keywords.

You can click on the option of showing the calculated estimates in U.S. dollars or whatever your currency may be. It will then show you the figures.

You can use this information to place the highest paying keywords in your articles no matter what your topic is.

This information can also be used to start a new website or blog. Remember google will find your website or blog there is no need for you to submit your url to google. Many believe that it can actually slow down the time it takes for a website to be ranked. I do not know for sure, but I do know that before you know it, you will start to get visitors through google.

Although there are many avenues of making money online, such as ehow, bukisa, today.com, the real money seems to be with google adsense, so why not find the highest paying keywords.

Drive Traffic To Your Blog or Website

Drive Traffic To Your Blog or Website

The quest of all webmasters and bloggers is to drive more traffic to their website or blog. There seems to be some big secret behind it. Really there is no secret at all, the thing that drives more traffic is google ranking and the key to google ranking is backlinks. There are other things that play a part in the google ranking process, but one of the key ingredients is backlinks.

Backlinks are a link from a website to your website. Google likes it when another website links to you. This makes them think that you are very important. The more backlinks your website or blog has, the higher the google ranking and therefore more traffic.

Many of the top 5 websites or blogs on google have 400-500 backlinks. Now you may think, great, I will just go and get myself as many backlinks as possible. Well, that is a good attitude to take, but it is not so easy to get backlinks.

There are many places that will swap links with you. You place their link on your website or blog and they will place you on their website. Now this does work, however they are not high quality website backlinks unless they are in the same category as your website. It is better to get a solid backlink in your industry or niche, than to have 100 backlinks in other categories.

You can always ask for backlinks. After all it never hurts to ask. Go to websites that are in the same industry that you are in or with the same topics and ask if they will link to your website.

You can also write articles for sites such as goarticles, associated content and ehow. Place a link back to your blog or website at the end of your article. Make sure your article is on the same topic as your blog or website niche.

You can also list your blog or website in directories.

All backlinks will help, but of course, the closer to your niche or market, the better. Google gives priority to websites with backlinks that are within their industry. The faster that you can add backlinks to your blog or website the faster you will move up in the google rankings.

When Can I Start making Passive Income Writing Online

The answer of course is today, it is not fast money, but making money online is easy if you are persistent. If you really want to start making Passive Income Writing Online then you should start now. It takes some time to build up to a real income. You can get some money to trickle in slowly over time, but to really make money you will need to start out slowly. You can start by creating your own blog. I like blogger.com because it is free and you do not want to start by creating bills for yourself. You absolutely do not need to have any overhead for starting a blog and starting to earn money, you just need you and your computer and your keyboard.

How Can I start making Passive Income Writing Online?

Start by creating a blog here at blogger.com. Use a title that includes your keywords. This will help you later on with search engine optimization. SEO as it is called is very important in sending people to your website. You will want to get a niche keyword phrase. If you cannot find what you want available, then you can always use dashes to get the keywords you like the best.

You can also open a blog on another website such as BUKISA or TODAY.COM, they will pay you to post articles. Not much at first but over time it will add up.
