Some of them I know will work, but I just cannot do them because they are not my cup of tea, such as creating cell phone apps. But, just because I don't want to do it, doesn't mean that you can't. It is definitely a good income source. Some people have started completed companies around creating cell phone apps which support many employees.

I will try to look into it just to find out as much as I possibly can. May be along the way, I will convince myself that it is a viable money making opportunity that I should try. Who knows? Right now, I cannot even wrap my head around exactly what a cell phone app is let alone trying to create one myself.

Some good news for the industry is that many people use cell phone apps and there are now many new ways to get help in creating them. It is always a good idea to farm out the work that you cannot do sufficiently yourself. Never feel bad about paying someone else to help you, that is the way the world works.

You may be more technologically advanced than I am and you may be able to create and sell cell phone apps.

Pat Flynn on his Smartpassiveincome blog likes to promote FREETHEAPP, if you want help on getting started in this lucrative industry. You can learn how to make iphone apps or apps for other phone companies such as Verizon, At&t, T-Mobile and others.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com9tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-89354597030470897702010-09-27T16:00:00.000-07:002010-09-27T16:08:21.771-07:00Your Own Website vs. Your Own Free BlogI have wondered if I should invest the time and money it takes to start up my own "real" website. Many people feel that it is the only way to go. I am not so sure.

Why I like a Free blog such as Blogger's Blogspot:

It's free! Woo hoo! Shouldn't that be enough of a reason for you? I love the fact that it is easy to set up and free to use. You can probably make yours look much better than my if you have an ounce of technical ability. I have no technical ability, so it is difficult for me.

I have heard that blog posts are handled differently in the whole scheme of the internet rankings. I am not sure how that is going to affect things for me. I hope it does not have a negative affect on me.

Although, in the future I may consider my own website and jump over to WordPress or GoDaddy for help, for now, I am going to stick with what I know and stay with blogger.

If you want to make money writing online, you may want to look into both options before making a decision or you can just do like I am doing and try the free option until it appears that you need more.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-1735205200652739842010-09-27T15:52:00.000-07:002010-09-27T16:00:00.196-07:00Who's Life Are You Building, Your Bosses, Or Your Own?Who's life are you building each day? If you have a 9-5 job, you just may be building a life for your boss or the shareholders of the company that you work for. Sure you are making a salary and it is paying the bills, but what will happen down the road. Are you able to save money for your retirement? What if you lose your job? Will you be able to support your family? I worry about all of these things just as much as you do. That is why I want to use my skills to build an additional passive income online just in case my other steady source of income gives out or I want to quit it altogether. Wouldn't that be nice? Making enough money online through passive income that makes it possible to quit the ole day job.

So now, I have myself and hopefully others all pumped up and ready to start making some passive income. Now, how are we going to do it?Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-91456243311242433282010-09-27T15:34:00.000-07:002010-09-27T15:51:20.607-07:00Rich Dad, Poor Dad MessageHave you ever read the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series? Don't worry, I am not trying to sell it to you or anything like that and I do even recommend it, but I did learn one big messages from reading this series.

Work smart, not hard!

Use the money and the resources that you have to make more money for yourself. Reduce and eliminate things that simply use up money without creating it or regenerating it. What is sucking the money out of you?

Don't you want to make money while you are sleeping? I know I do, that is why I am on a quest to make a decent living from passive income online. As most of you know, I have been working at it for almost two years now at a snails pace and on my on time. I am making about $1,600 per month even when I do nothing. Now I want to focus on increasing my monthly passive income. Although $1,600 per month sounds awesome at first, one must realize that it is not a living. I appreciate it, but I do not know when it will end (knock on wood) or reduce. So, I must focus on bringing in more money.

One thing that I am trying to focus on while designing my new lifestyle is not wasting time on things that don't make money. Stay away from websites that you have already tried and you know do not work. For me those are websites such as the make money taking surveys, make money doing something that you do not know what it is, mturk, bukisa, associated content and anything that wastes your time.

Now, I do admit, that there may be some more time wasting as I try to figure out what does make money, but luckily there are many people on the internet that have traveled this path before me and can help me find my way. There are people like Timothy Ferris (I wonder if he is related to Todd Ferris, oh that's right Todd Ferris is a fictitious name, sorry), The 4-Hour Work Week Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich. By the way, if you click on that link, I am not making a penny from it. I just thought it is an interesting book. May be that is why I not making as much as I think I should be.

Anyway, if a 4-hour work week sounds good to you, I know it sounds good to me, follow me to the other side.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-42273025000224969202010-09-27T15:07:00.000-07:002010-09-27T16:35:24.377-07:00How Much Are You Making Online? In December of 2008, I began writing online, mostly for eHow in the beginning. I had no real expectations to make very much money, but I was sure hoping for some kind of windfall passive income. Initially, I only make a couple of bucks from my articles written in December, but since then, I have made a couple hundred dollars from those first few articles. Ehow has even deleted some, but I am still making money.

Fast forward to September of 2010 and I am now making a steady $1,300 to $1,600 per month from eHow, Bukisa, Associated Content, Oainternet, Clickbank and Commission Junction. Google adsense through blogger and hubpages are just trickling in. The majority of my money is made from eHow and Clickbank right now. I can no longer write for eHow because I do not want to sell my articles to Demand Studios, so I am now writing on Hubpages or my own blogs.

Although I am happy with the passive income that I am making right now, I am also surprise to hear that Pat Flynn from Smartpassiveincome.com is making between $7,000 and $20,000 per month. I don't know exactly when he started, but Pat started posting his monthly income statements in October 2008, just a couple months before I began writing online. I do believe that Pat had begun some of his online money making attempts way before October 2008. However, I cannot help but compare myself to Pat in some ways just because we were both trying to make passive income at the same time.

Another huge difference between Pat and myself, besides our income, is that Pat has dabbled in many different internet money making adventures such as educational test study kits, cell phone apps, ebooks and his own websites. I have not tried any of these pursuits because they seem way over my head.

I have also noticed that Pat does not even really try to make money from Google Adsense.

These differences make me wonder what I should do differently today? Although, I know that I am not going to go down the road of making cell phone apps or sell test kits, I still have a lot to learn from Pat Flynn.

Pat has been an inspiration to us all because he has shown us that it can be done. If you put in the time now, you can benefit in the future. Now I just need to figure out what it is I need to do to grow my future passive income, you are welcome to follow me along the way.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-71538074869635788802010-09-27T14:52:00.000-07:002010-09-27T15:05:07.367-07:00Sometimes Articles Do Make More on Associated ContentMost of the time it seems that there is not much money to be made on Associated Content, however, I have noticed that there are times when an article can make more money on AC than anywhere else.

There is a quirky editing team on AC that offers more money for articles that on subject matters that are not well covered or even heard of.

Has AC ever offered you a low up front payment for a good keyworded article because "there are already too many articles on AC covering the subject? This has happened to me numerous times. I can write an article on a good topic such as Credit or Teeth Whitening only to be offered two bucks from AC.

I can then write an article (fictitious) on How to Clean My Eyebrows with Mayonnaise and AC offers a fair amount. Since this article would not make a penny anywhere else, I am happy to take an offer from AC.

I have noticed that some of my articles that have never made a penny on websites such as eHow, Bukisa, Blogger, and Hubpages, even after being posted for many months or years, can then be sold to Associated Content for an upfront offer. It is unbelievable.

If you have articles that have never made a penny or have been deleted off of other writing websites, you just may want to give them a try over a AC before sending them to the recycle bin.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-47688621349404087192010-04-05T15:46:00.000-07:002010-04-05T15:56:02.366-07:00eHow That Sucks!Well, it sucks that eHow is now changing all of their writers over to Demand Studio Writers. Whether or not you were pre approved to be a DS writer does not matter. I don't think you should write for them.

eHow just used all of the Writers Compensation Program participants to fill up their website with articles. Now that they have enough they have canceled the program. Now one knows how long it will be before they kick our articles off of eHow. I can no longer consider them part of my monthly passive income because it could end at any minute. I am scrambling to make changes.

Over the lifetime of my articles they have made about $9.60 per article. But I was able to write about anything that I wanted to write about. I choose the content and the length of the article and I still own it.

The worst part of the DEMAND STUDIOS writing program is the fact that YOU WILL NO LONGER OWN YOUR WORK. That really sucks. They are converting passive income earners like myself to worker bees. I do not want to be a worker bee. All of my work needs to create passive income.

Working for Demand Studios would be a waste of my time.

I am now wondering what would be the next best thing. Should I write more for my own blogs or possibly Hubpages? I should have been writing more for my own blogs and they would most likely be more successful right now.

Let me know your thoughts and ideas.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-91355274815771862452010-01-01T21:36:00.000-08:002010-01-01T21:44:31.447-08:00EHow Experiment December 2009 Earnings ReportTechnically eHow has not given the final earnings report for 2009 so I do not know if this is my final number or if another days worth of earnings will be added. This total includes all writing websites, data entry websites and affiliate links. This total does not include money made from stocks or currency.

I have received $8,307.93 from eHow, Bukisa, Associated Content, Mturk, and my affiliate links, such as Clickbank and Oainternet in 2009. I did not earn enough to make payout from Google Adsense. I did not make a penny from Amazon Affiliates or any other website not listed above. That is about $692 per month.

This is the amount that I have received. I will not receive any more payments until 2010. This amount does not include December earnings because I will not be paid for them until 2010.

Of course I worked hard this year setting up these accounts, writing and creating links. August Earnings ReportIt is really true, the passive income method on eHow.com really works. In August I made $488 dollars from eHow. The amazing thing is that I only wrote 10 articles in August. I normally write about 100 articles per month and those articles add to the bottom line.

This month, I wanted to see if I would continue to make around $500 per month without writing and the results show that the experiment worked. EHow.com is a great place to make a passive income.

I have not written any articles for September and I have made $54 in the first three days. I finally broke $500 on eHow this month. It has been a long road, but well worth the wait.

Here are my July earnings for writing online:

$506 eHow
$87 mTurk
$9 Associated Content

I did not make enough for a payout from Bukisa, but I have since surpassed the $10 minimum and I will get a payout next month. So far I have only received $13.99 from Bukisa since January.

I wrote a couple of articles for Associated Content, but my current articles are not earning a lot, only about $1.50 per month. That is enough to make the minimum payout. I have received almost $100 from Associated Content since I started in January.

Towards the end of the month I was a little concerned that I would not reach the $500 mark on eHow, but luckily they pulled through for me. I really notice a huge difference in earnings when I am able to write a lot. If I do not write a lot my earnings go down slightly and then level off.

Good luck to all of you and have a great day.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-80967757556653093902009-07-25T11:20:00.000-07:002009-07-25T11:32:32.726-07:00eHow of the DayMy article on watering your summer garden is the eHow of the Day. This is so exciting. I just love eHow! Today you can just go to www.ehow.com today to see my article.

Along with getting a few more friend requests and recommendations, I also received the $75 for winning the homepage contest as well.

This is a very exciting day. I feel like I am on the cover of Rolling Stone or Time Magazine.

Thank you all for all of your encouragement and support. I can't wait to see all of my friends articles on the homepage of eHow.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-68668193687985240162009-07-23T11:11:00.000-07:002009-07-23T11:16:49.184-07:00Ehow $75 Bonus Mystery SOLVED!Ehow finally announced the winners of the June homepage contest and now I know for sure that is why I received the $75.00 bonus with my June earnings. Very nice. Thank you Ehow. My journey to making passive income online is going well. I still wish I knew more, but I am learning everyday.

Ehow.com is definitely a viable option for making passive income online. I am proof of that. It is a lot of work to get it going and I don't think that I will slow down until I have 1500 articles or more. We shall see.

I still do not know the best topics to write about and I am constantly researching new topics. There are only so many articles that one can write about weight loss, flat abs and starting your own business. I need some fresh meat. What to write about next? Ehow seems to want more summer gardening articles so I assume that those are really needed. However, I wonder when they will put my article on watering your summer garden on the homepage.

I guess we will all have to wait and see.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-38681803569563868502009-07-14T12:57:00.000-07:002009-07-14T13:06:28.690-07:00Mystery $75 eHow BonusIf you have been keeping up with my blog then you know that I received mystery $75.00 from eHow with my June earnings. Initially I thought that this bonus was something to do with the $25.00 bonus for writing 5 articles on three specific days in May. I had written 21 articles on those days, not even knowing about the contest.

Then I thought that the bonus was because I wrote more than 100 articles in the month. I had myself convinced that it was because I had written so many articles but because I never received an email from eHow, I really had no idea why I had received the bonus.

Writing online is just getting better every day. Yesterday I received an email from eHow about having one of my summer home and garden articles posted on the homepage. Wow, what an honor to have my article featured on the homepage. I am now wondering if the $75.00 bonus was for the homepage contest. I remember Rich mentioning something about a $75-$100 bonus if your article is picked to be on the homepage.

I still do not know for sure, but one thing that is for sure, eHow is definitely a viable way to make money online and it is a very simple way to create a passive income for yourself. What could be easier. I have tried selling stocks and forex and although I really enjoy doing it, it is very difficult and stressful to trade stocks or currency and you never know what will happen.

Pumping out a few articles per day or even per week seems to be a much better way to make money.

Months ago I really wondered if the people bragging about their $500 plus earnings per month on eHow were telling the truth. Now I believe that some of them were telling the truth.

Good luck to you all!Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-20344863865699517882009-07-14T10:44:00.000-07:002009-07-14T10:57:10.767-07:00EHow Homepage Featured ArticleEHow has chosen one of my summer home and garden articles to feature on their homepage. I just received an email yesterday from an eHow.com gal telling me that she is currently programming the home page and that she wants to feature my article on How to Save Money Watering Your Summer Garden.

My response of course was woo hoo!. I am so thrilled. I really feel like I am part of the eHow community. What an honor to be featured on the homepage. She did not tell me anything else about is such as when it will be featured or where on the homepage it will be featured. Of course I am hoping for the top spot. EHow is so incredible. Nothing else seems to compare in my book. EHow.com is the best.

Of course now I am checking the homepage every few minutes to see if my article has made it to the number one spot yet. In the meantime my earnings have been great. They were over $17 dollars today. I am averaging more than $14.00 per day this month. This will be a great month. All of my hard work is starting to pay off.

I really do not think that I am some kind of fabulous writer. I think that just about anyone can write articles online at eHow.com and make passive income. Sometimes I read posts on the forum from people that are expecting to make hundreds of dollars from their 50-100 articles. That is not enough. Even at 300 articles I knew I did not have enough. Now that I am at 543, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel and it is getting brighter.

Of course, I had to learn a little bit about SEO (search engine optimization). I still have about 77 articles that have never earned a penny. My highest earning article has earned $35, but I have a number two article that is up to $33 and I think it will surpass my top earning article any time now.

The key to success on eHow.com seems to be writing a lot of articles on a variety of subjects. Even subjects that appear to be over used such as weight loss and travel are still good topics to write about. Just put your opinions in the how to format and you are set.

I need to pinch myself because I still cannot believe that I am going to be featured on the homepage of ehow.com. Thank you eHow!Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-29923921071441887532009-07-13T16:03:00.000-07:002009-07-13T16:09:10.593-07:00$8.30 per 1,000 Page Views on Ehow.comI have over 134,000 views on my 543 eHow.com articles. That calculates out to $8.30 per 1,000 page views. I don't know about you, but that sounds much better than sites such as Today.com that pays only $2 per 1,000 page views or other sites that pay anywhere from $1.50 to $3.42 per 1,000 page views.

EHow.com pays a lot more than other writing websites in my opinion. It does take some time to get started and you will not be paid up front, but if you are looking for passive income writing online, eHow seems to be your best bet.

It takes very little time to write a few articles per day or per week and it eventually does pay off. Invest in yourself today by writing some articles for eHow.com, the best passive income from writing online.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-33463056524872719362009-07-11T20:28:00.000-07:002009-07-11T20:58:08.129-07:00Passive Income Writing OnlineDo you want to make passive income writing online? So did I and I have been writing online since December 2008. This blog has chronicled my ups and downs of writing online. I still don't know everything and I am sure that it could be done better, but the one thing that I have learned is that it can be done.

Even though my passive income is not massive (yet!), I have been making an income and it is very exciting. There is so much more for me to learn about blogging, keywords, etc. I just wanted to update everyone on how much income I have made to date. It does not really feel like passive income yet because I work hard for every penny right now, how every I do see now how it can become passive income over time.

Passive Income Writing Online

Totals to date:

Mturk $1,666.04
eHow $1,098.90 543 articles
AC $ 90.87 58 articles
Bukisa $ 21.86 111 articles

Google adsense has not paid me anything yet because I have not met the minimum amounts. My account is currently at $10.89.

Mturk earnings were not all writing jobs. Some of the earnings were simple data entry tasks. Most of the $1,600 was made in the first two months, I have since given up with them. The work is too grueling and does not pay enough. If you are desperate it is a good alternative. I would rather make money that keeps paying me.

eHow seems to be the best so far. Here is a breakdown of my ehow earnings, which have now become true passive income:

December $ 1.79
January $ 21.00
February $ 27.27
March $ 39.43
April $ 158.96
May $ 255.18
June $ 443.70
July $ 151.57(through the 10th)

As you can see it has been increasing. I am now making more than $15.00 per day and I have drastically cut down on the number of articles I write although I do intend to pick up again.
I am not sure which site will pay more over the long run and I am not doing an accurate comparison. It may seem like eHow is the clear winner, however it is nice to receive money upfront from other sites such as Associated Content. I have many articles on eHow that have not made any money ( a total of 81 the are completely non earners) and I also have many that have not made a dollar yet.

If I compare that with my AC articles, most of the ones that I requested an upfront payment for, were paid at least $1.00 and they do keep earning. Although it may seem like they do not pay as much, on the other hand, eHow does not pay up front payments at all. In my opinion, it is best to put article on AC if they offer a high upfront payment and/or they are a highly viewed topic, since they pay by page views.

Bukisa is another website that pays by page views and therefore it is only profitable if the articles placed there are highly viewed articles.

On eHow it does not matter how many views an article receives because the earnings are based on a secret algorithim (seems like clicks - never commit click fraud). I have some eHow articles with very few views that have earned a lot of money.

All in all this year has been very fun so far and I believe that even if I stopped writing for eHow today, I would continue to earn money for years to come. Passive income writing online is possible, yeah!Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-77056150731397626492009-07-08T12:31:00.000-07:002009-07-08T12:36:11.501-07:00July Ehow.com Earnings GoalsI still have a goal to make $500 per month on ehow and I have a feeling that this is the month that will do it. I came very close last month at $443. This month so far I have averaged $14.26 per day. That is an excellent start. I think that I will probably meet my goal this month.

I have 543 articles at the moment and hope to add three articles per day in the month of July. It is much more difficult now that the article titles are restricted but I think that I can do it. I still believe that quantity is key on ehow. Quality and keywords is also important. Many of my first articles have never earned a penny because I did not understand enough about keywords. Most of my articles that earn well have been written in the last three months.

Anyone can earn on ehow and I hope that all of you are enjoying yourselves and making some extra cash as well.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-63414360142007307352009-07-01T21:04:00.000-07:002009-07-03T19:17:24.713-07:00June Ehow EarningsWow, what a month on eHow. I made a total of $443.70. Slightly lower than my goal of $500.00 but I am getting closer. My articles made me $368.70 which was surprisingly low I thought, but most of them are still new. I also earned a $75.00 bonus which was extremely cool. I have made a total of $946.76 on ehow.com since I started in December.

Ehow is so much better than I thought, I wish I had realized it sooner. I think they need better tutorials on how to write for them and make money because if more people understood what they needed to do, they would do it. It is such a mystery and everyone is trying to figure it out on their own.

I only wrote 73 articles this month which was short of my goal but I have had some writers block and too much goofing around on the internet, etc. I want to write at least 90 articles per month, so I will make it up this month. I now have 536 articles total.

My views increased from 73,183 to 118,857 in the month of June. That is a nice increase in views.

I did not make enough on bukisa or associated content for a payout on earnings for views, but I did make $2.50 for one article on associated content. I am not really sure if it is worth it to write anything for associated content. Because bukisa and AC pay based on views, I try to write articles that I think will get a lot of views, but it still does not pay very much. I love the upfront payments at AC but with very little coming in after it does not seem worth it. My ehow articles make me much more and they keep making me money over time.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-81453871209627197552009-06-20T11:15:00.000-07:002009-06-20T11:23:18.643-07:00My Ehow Earnings Broke $200 Already This MonthI am happy to report that I have earned $203 so far on ehow this month. That is close to $11 per day on average. My highest day this month so far was $16. My earnings are not growing in leaps and bounds but I am extremely happy with the results so far.

My earnings are definitely higher when I am consistent. If I write 2-3 articles per day, my earnings are significantly better than when I skip days. It is very difficult to be consistent and write about topics that people are interested in reading.

Of course, I am always trying to learn new ways to make money on line and using The Ultimate Business ModelSapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4450746056684952199.post-46033243586356506872009-06-15T20:43:00.000-07:002009-06-15T20:48:32.281-07:00Ehow Earnings half way through JuneTechnically tomorrow will have the official update of my ehow earnings for half way through the month of June. Right now I am at $136.80 and I am very happy about that. My earnings are fluctuating every day but mostly increasing. I am expecting $9-$13 in tomorrows update. Ehow has been so wonderful at updating our earnings lately. It is so nice to depend on it every day.

My views have increased slightly also. I did have a few days when the views were crazy high but it may be possible that they were just making up for missed days. I normally received 700-1,000 views per day, but now it is 1,000 or more per day.

Hopefully my earnings and views will go hand and hand on the way up.Sapphirehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06584153228076631243noreply@blogger.com2
