There are many ways to make money online. Some of them I know will work, but I just cannot do them because they are not my cup of tea, such as creating cell phone apps. But, just because I don't want to do it, doesn't mean that you can't. It is definitely a good income source. Some people have started completed companies around creating cell phone apps which support many employees.
I will try to look into it just to find out as much as I possibly can. May be along the way, I will convince myself that it is a viable money making opportunity that I should try. Who knows? Right now, I cannot even wrap my head around exactly what a cell phone app is let alone trying to create one myself.
Some good news for the industry is that many people use cell phone apps and there are now many new ways to get help in creating them. It is always a good idea to farm out the work that you cannot do sufficiently yourself. Never feel bad about paying someone else to help you, that is the way the world works.
You may be more technologically advanced than I am and you may be able to create and sell cell phone apps.
Pat Flynn on his Smartpassiveincome blog likes to promote FREETHEAPP, if you want help on getting started in this lucrative industry. You can learn how to make iphone apps or apps for other phone companies such as Verizon, At&t, T-Mobile and others.

Your Own Website vs. Your Own Free Blog
I have wondered if I should invest the time and money it takes to start up my own "real" website. Many people feel that it is the only way to go. I am not so sure.
Why I like a Free blog such as Blogger's Blogspot:
It's free! Woo hoo! Shouldn't that be enough of a reason for you? I love the fact that it is easy to set up and free to use. You can probably make yours look much better than my if you have an ounce of technical ability. I have no technical ability, so it is difficult for me.
I have heard that blog posts are handled differently in the whole scheme of the internet rankings. I am not sure how that is going to affect things for me. I hope it does not have a negative affect on me.
Although, in the future I may consider my own website and jump over to WordPress or GoDaddy for help, for now, I am going to stick with what I know and stay with blogger.
If you want to make money writing online, you may want to look into both options before making a decision or you can just do like I am doing and try the free option until it appears that you need more.

Who's Life Are You Building, Your Bosses, Or Your Own?
Who's life are you building each day? If you have a 9-5 job, you just may be building a life for your boss or the shareholders of the company that you work for. Sure you are making a salary and it is paying the bills, but what will happen down the road. Are you able to save money for your retirement? What if you lose your job? Will you be able to support your family? I worry about all of these things just as much as you do. That is why I want to use my skills to build an additional passive income online just in case my other steady source of income gives out or I want to quit it altogether. Wouldn't that be nice? Making enough money online through passive income that makes it possible to quit the ole day job.
So now, I have myself and hopefully others all pumped up and ready to start making some passive income. Now, how are we going to do it?

Rich Dad, Poor Dad Message
Have you ever read the Rich Dad, Poor Dad series? Don't worry, I am not trying to sell it to you or anything like that and I do even recommend it, but I did learn one big messages from reading this series.
Work smart, not hard!
Use the money and the resources that you have to make more money for yourself. Reduce and eliminate things that simply use up money without creating it or regenerating it. What is sucking the money out of you?
Don't you want to make money while you are sleeping? I know I do, that is why I am on a quest to make a decent living from passive income online. As most of you know, I have been working at it for almost two years now at a snails pace and on my on time. I am making about $1,600 per month even when I do nothing. Now I want to focus on increasing my monthly passive income. Although $1,600 per month sounds awesome at first, one must realize that it is not a living. I appreciate it, but I do not know when it will end (knock on wood) or reduce. So, I must focus on bringing in more money.
One thing that I am trying to focus on while designing my new lifestyle is not wasting time on things that don't make money. Stay away from websites that you have already tried and you know do not work. For me those are websites such as the make money taking surveys, make money doing something that you do not know what it is, mturk, bukisa, associated content and anything that wastes your time.
Now, I do admit, that there may be some more time wasting as I try to figure out what does make money, but luckily there are many people on the internet that have traveled this path before me and can help me find my way. There are people like Timothy Ferris (I wonder if he is related to Todd Ferris, oh that's right Todd Ferris is a fictitious name, sorry), The 4-Hour Work Week Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich. By the way, if you click on that link, I am not making a penny from it. I just thought it is an interesting book. May be that is why I not making as much as I think I should be.
Anyway, if a 4-hour work week sounds good to you, I know it sounds good to me, follow me to the other side.

How Much Are You Making Online?
In December of 2008, I began writing online, mostly for eHow in the beginning. I had no real expectations to make very much money, but I was sure hoping for some kind of windfall passive income. Initially, I only make a couple of bucks from my articles written in December, but since then, I have made a couple hundred dollars from those first few articles. Ehow has even deleted some, but I am still making money.
Fast forward to September of 2010 and I am now making a steady $1,300 to $1,600 per month from eHow, Bukisa, Associated Content, Oainternet, Clickbank and Commission Junction. Google adsense through blogger and hubpages are just trickling in. The majority of my money is made from eHow and Clickbank right now. I can no longer write for eHow because I do not want to sell my articles to Demand Studios, so I am now writing on Hubpages or my own blogs.
Although I am happy with the passive income that I am making right now, I am also surprise to hear that Pat Flynn from Smartpassiveincome.com is making between $7,000 and $20,000 per month. I don't know exactly when he started, but Pat started posting his monthly income statements in October 2008, just a couple months before I began writing online. I do believe that Pat had begun some of his online money making attempts way before October 2008. However, I cannot help but compare myself to Pat in some ways just because we were both trying to make passive income at the same time.
Another huge difference between Pat and myself, besides our income, is that Pat has dabbled in many different internet money making adventures such as educational test study kits, cell phone apps, ebooks and his own websites. I have not tried any of these pursuits because they seem way over my head.
I have also noticed that Pat does not even really try to make money from Google Adsense.
These differences make me wonder what I should do differently today? Although, I know that I am not going to go down the road of making cell phone apps or sell test kits, I still have a lot to learn from Pat Flynn.
Pat has been an inspiration to us all because he has shown us that it can be done. If you put in the time now, you can benefit in the future. Now I just need to figure out what it is I need to do to grow my future passive income, you are welcome to follow me along the way.

Sometimes Articles Do Make More on Associated Content
Most of the time it seems that there is not much money to be made on Associated Content, however, I have noticed that there are times when an article can make more money on AC than anywhere else.
There is a quirky editing team on AC that offers more money for articles that on subject matters that are not well covered or even heard of.
Has AC ever offered you a low up front payment for a good keyworded article because "there are already too many articles on AC covering the subject? This has happened to me numerous times. I can write an article on a good topic such as Credit or Teeth Whitening only to be offered two bucks from AC.
I can then write an article (fictitious) on How to Clean My Eyebrows with Mayonnaise and AC offers a fair amount. Since this article would not make a penny anywhere else, I am happy to take an offer from AC.
I have noticed that some of my articles that have never made a penny on websites such as eHow, Bukisa, Blogger, and Hubpages, even after being posted for many months or years, can then be sold to Associated Content for an upfront offer. It is unbelievable.
If you have articles that have never made a penny or have been deleted off of other writing websites, you just may want to give them a try over a AC before sending them to the recycle bin.
